Men-see-a. Also known as Jaen throughout most of the Dão region of Portugal where it is primarily found.

This is a black grape variety that often yields light red wines with medium body and delicate floral notes of soft red fruits such as cranberry, raspberry. It has medium tannin levels that often gives a distinctive texture and mouth feel of minerality with a black pepper finish.

 Often compared to other globally know varieties such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Gamay.
