Tra-ja-dura. One of the primary white grape varieties grown in the Vinho Verde region of North East Portugal.
A delicatly aromatic grape variety, of lemon, ripe pear and stone fruit of apricot. Trajadura has medium levels of acidity and relatively high levels of alcohol. It is more commonly grown to blend with other white grape varieties of the Vinho Verde region to balance out the high acidity and low alcohol levels of other varieties of the region.
However, and increasing number of wine makers are producing Trajadura as a single varietal wine with results that merit Trajadura to be allowed to shine on its own.
